Understanding Book: MEMBERS REQUIREMENTS



WHAT A MEMBER OF A CO-OPERATIVE/UNION MUST DO TO BE QUALIFIED:-
5.1C.  Members of co-operative society are referred to as the general Assembly. The general body is composed of individuals who group themselves together to form co-operative society. These individuals are under compulsion to hold meetings, referred to as general meetings, Quarterly meetings and other relevant meetings. But every member is expected to meet up with the following conditions to qualify as a member.

    I.            ADMISSION:
Every intending member must make in writing an Application for membership, which shall be directed to the Secretary/Manager and shall be disposed of by the Committee, who may grant or refuse admission. Any applicant refused shall be informed that he may appeal through a member of the society to the next general meeting, in which decision may be taking, such decision as it think fit.

 II.            Every member on admission shall sign or thumb-print the Membership and attendance           Register.

III.            Every member shall on joining the Society render to the Committee a true and complete statement of his indebtedness outside the society. Otherwise when it’s found out, it will be treated as a criminal offence.
